    Item Description...
Burnt Rice Husk (RHA) is rich in silica and potassium and can be mixed with soil to provide more moisture and nutrient retention. It not only contributes nutrients but also absorbs odours and keeps the root system clean and hygienic. It is lightweight and also improves aeration and drainage when mixed into potting media.
Rice husk is an abundantly available waste material in all rice producing countries,
and it contains about 30%–50% of organic carbon.
In the course of a typical milling process, the husks are removed from the raw grain to reveal whole brown rice which upon further milling to remove the bran layer will yield white rice.
    Physical Properties...
RHA is grayish-black in color due to unburned carbon. At burning temperatures of 550–800
°C, amorphous silica is formed, while crystalline silica is produced at higher temperatures.
Energy content of RHA is approximately 12 MJ kg
    −1
and they are a good source of fuel for producing hot water and steam.
Rice husks contain silica, which can be a useful fertilizer for rice plants.
    Benefits of Rice Husks...
    - It resists moisture penetration.
    - It resists fungal decomposition.
    - It decomposes slowly.
    - It's renewable.
    - It insulates well.
