    La Catrina “, created by the Mexican painter, illustrator and cartoonist José Guadalupe Posada, was originally called“ La Calavera Garbancera ”. This word came from the chickpea sellers, who, being poor, appeared to be rich and wanted to hide their indigenous roots. It was born as a critique of classism in Mexican society. Its meaning is that death makes us all equal, rich and poor. La Catrina is currently one of the most popular and representative characters in Mexican culture and it is inconceivable to think of a Day of the Dead without her.
    This catrina is made and painted by hand by the artisans of Cupula Michoacan Mexico.

Esta palabra provenía de los vendedores de garbanzo, que siendo pobres aparentaban ser ricos y querían ocultar sus raíces indígenas. Nació como una crítica al clasismo de la sociedad mexicana.
    Su significado es que la muerte nos iguala a todos, ricos y pobres.
