Product Q&A
Q
What is the general dimension of the pellets of perlite in the coarse size?
A
Since the pellets of perlite are of a smaller size and are not a uniform, we can not give specific dimensions however we have provided a photo of the perlite for scale.
Q
Does the perlite remain in the soil as a drainage, ground decongestant for more than one season?
A
The Coarse Perlite should last several seasons depending on how much the soil is agitated. Stirring up the soil will cause some break down of the perlite.
Q
How does the size compare to horticulture grade perlite?
A
Our Course Perlite is comparable in size to any of the horticultural grade perlite products currently on the market.
Q
Is this bag compressed perlite? I ask because a 3.8 cu ft bag, compressed, is equal to about 6 cubic feet of "loose".
A
The Coarse Perlite, 4 cubic foot bag is not compressed.
Q
How is this at absorbing oil, etc...
A
Perlite can be used to control and clean up liquid spills. Natural inorganic sorbents such as perlite can adsorb from 4 to 20 times their weight in oil. The characteristics of both sorbents and oil types must be considered when choosing sorbents for cleaning up oil spills, however, the absorption of oil is faster with lighter oil products.
Q
How much does It Weight?
A
The 4 cu. ft. bag of Coarse Perlite will weigh approximately 22 lbs.
