Rope turns into a silk.  This trick is one of the quickest, easiest tricks around.  Imagine showing your audience a piece of approx. 20” rope and instantly it becomes an  approx.18” silk!
The magician displays a piece of rope about 20″ in length which he claims is a piece of the “Famous Indian Rope Trick."
The rope is held at one end and the other end held up. When the top end is left the rope falls down just like a normal rope. This is repeated once or twice – then finally the magician gives up.
The magician explains that the Indian Rope Trick is only a figment of the imagination, which in fact does not exist. So also is the rope trick the spectators have just seen – there really is no rope which can stand up magically. As he says this he passes his hand over the rope, and it is seen to transform into a colored silk which the magician freely displays to the audience on both sides.
(Note: This is not a "flash" change - you must pass your hand over the rope.)
