    Description

    VINTAGE 1940's HORNET 60 (.60 cu/in) Racing Spark Ignition Rear Rotor Intake Model Airplane Engine. Complete with all original points ignition timer assembly and a hot Champion V-2 plug. This is a very rare discontinued high performance racing engine. This fine example looks new and was designed and built in the USA by the famous Ray Snow in Ventura California. The engine turns over very smoothly with very strong compression and features
    an unusual split crankcase design with rear rotor induction with a large brass venturi and needle valve assembly. The engine includes a twin ringed aluminum dome top racing piston with twin transfer ports in the piston skirt and a steel cylinder both of which are nearly identical to the Dick McCoy large 60 speed racing engine, including a hardened connecting rod and hardened steel long version crankshaft.
    This
    engine will look great for display in any collection and will also perform great installed in tether cars, model racing boats or model airplane kits or your custom design built racing model of choice.
