OS Max 45F Glow Engine - 4B Carb.

OS Max 45F - a rare golden oldie. I purchased this engine along time ago from eBay, and recently decided to clean it and replace the bearings and use it in a project plane for an old Viper 500 that I have had hanging in my garage for some years. Disassembling the engine was the easy part. Breaking the piston ring and somehow managing to drop the engine breaking the carb on this rare to find engine was the hard part. The part of the carb that holds the needle valve has broken. It has proven to be a total loss for me. I cannot find a piston ring or a new carb after extensive searching. I believe the ring is called a dykes ring and is mounted at the top of the piston almost slightly above it. The engine is complete except for the broken ring and carb and exactly as I purchased it. The crank case has very light staining, the bearings are smooth again after extensive cleaning and oiling but will eventually will need to be replaced, all the mounting hardware has been ultrasonic cleaned, The cylinder head is a little stained from old castor residue but complete and all the cooling fins are intact, will need a new back plate gasket (easily found believe it or not), stamped CP on the lower right mounting lug. The mounting lugs show very little signs of wear. I will loosely oil and assemble the engine for shipping and packaging. Many more pictures are available. Just ask.
