    In many cases, a new vinyl screen door track can restore function to a tight, dragging, or binding sliding screen door. Many brands of modern vinyl sliding patio doors are made with very little clearance for the screen door, which is usually due to a shallow top channel. The depth of the top channel in the sliding screen door system is what allows the screen door room to move vertically as it slides open and shut. This "play" in the system, paired with a properly sized and adjusted door is the formula for smooth operation. As your vinyl patio door ages, you may notice the sliding screen door track warping and lifting out of the bottom channel, which will cause binding. A new screen door track is a great step in fixing this issue!
